Ratbag Hero is a band based in the South Side Of Chicago. I heard about them through Shooting Blanks, and they amuse me a great deal. Haven't checked out one of their shows yet, because it seems difficult for bands to play all ages shows these days, and that still matters for me until the 5th of October. Bah. These guys are great, check em out, download em, email them naked pictures of yourself. Whatever you feel like. I'm sure they'll be amused by it.

Q. 1 ¤ How would you guys describe your music?

Weber : Power-pop punk rock from the southside of Chicago. With lyrics and melodies that are heartfelt that reach out to a wide-range of people, from dive bar drunks to skateboardin' punks.

Q. 2 ¤ Do you guys ever get into arguments--and if so does it affect the music at all?

Weber : I bloodied Chuck's nose at a show once and he throw me off a hotel room wall in Omaha once. Scotty almost killed Chuck in Las Vegas and Koz should stick to shadow-boxing, cause he likes to bitch-slap people too often. But naw, we get in drunk little skirmishes sometimes, but as far as arguments or conflicts in the songwrtiting process, it's awesome working on new songs together. We're always open to each other's ideas.

Q. 3 ¤ Which of your songs if your favorite one, and why?

Weber : I like our song "Storybook" alot cause it's simply states that double-standards in a relationship are unacceptable, yet often sought after by a guy who really doesn't know what he wants. A girl leaves him behind, causing him to want to "rewrite our Storybook, because the ending sucked". Also, "Back Row Girls" is alot of fun and "Cook County Sheriff" stresses driving responsible after drinking, while talking of a guy who died in a car accident, only to have one final wish at his funeral, "In lieu of flowers send beer, cause flowers die and kegs go dry and since I had to die, send beer for my friends so we can get drunk one last time."

Q. 4 ¤ What was your most embarassing moment on stage?

Weber : There's been quite a few of them, but only embarassing to my girlfriend; I really don't give a shit. Sometimes people laugh with us and sometimes at us, but we always put on a fun, high-energy show. I dropped my pants once and fired a shot glass at a guy before. 2 stupid things, but I wasn't embarassed. ..

Q. 5 ¤ If you were a sex toy, what would you be & why?

Weber : I'd probably want to be my blow-up sex doll. I'd be able to see what it's like having sex with me. I hear it's great, but it's unfortunate that outside of masturbation I'll never be able to really get pleasure from myself.

Q. 6 ¤ Seriously now, How much DO you love us?

Weber : Well we're big fans of anyone who tries helping out local bands and I'm sure once we get to know you we'll love you forever. We won't say it unless we mean it or if it will help us get into bed with you but, "We Love You!!"

"I would rather die, than to see you with another guy It doesn't matter if I cheat on you cause I can do what I want to Just know the same rules don't apply to you And when you told me the night you said 'Goodbye' I didn't make you cheat and lie Just know that I'll re-write the ending when I read our Storybook Because the ending sucked"
